Byzantine Scales

There are four main scale types used in Byzantine Chant: Diatonic, Soft Chromatic, Hard Chromatic, and Enharmonic.
NOTE: The menu beneath each scale will provide you with the ison in that scale (click the desired ison, then click outside of the box).

Diatonic

To play the notes using your keyboard, press your appropriate modifier keys (found here) plus keys "1" through "0" and "-" to play notes "Zo" through "Pa'".

Soft Chromatic

Hard Chromatic

Enharmonic
